Vocal training & accompaniment

Since 2017, the singers of the New Chamber Choir have received professional voice training from Kerstin Barwitz and Katarzyna Jagiello for the individual development of their voices.

Pianist Alwina Meissner supports the choir in rehearsals and concerts at the piano.

Katarzyna Jagiello
soprano

Born in Olsztyn (Allenstein) in Poland, she studied in Lodz, Breslau and with Prof. Christian Elssner at the Musikhochschule Dresden and took part in master and interpretation courses with Gwendolyn Bradley, Teresa Zylis - Gara, Olaf Bär, among others. She has won several prizes at international singing competitions.

With her repertoire, which includes around 80 parts of opera and oratorio music, she has made many guest appearances with the Hassler Consort, Dresden Baroque Orchestra, Capella Cracoviensis, Nuremberg Bach Orchestra, among others. As a sought-after vocal soloist, she has worked with, among others, Hans-Christoph Rademann, Franz Raml, Matthias Grünert, Timo Handschu, Bernhard Buttmann.

In addition to her international concert activities, she taught as an assistant to Prof. Christian Elssner, then as a doctor of singing at the University of Music in Breslau. In 2004 she recorded JS Bach's Christmas Oratorio with the Dresden Baroque Orchestra under Hans Christoph Rademann.

From 2011 to 2014  she was a member of the ensemble at the Ulm Theater where she performed the roles of Sophie (Rosenkavalier), Ginevra (Ariodante), Romilda and Atalanta (Xerxes), Lauretta (Gianni Schicchi),_cc781905- 5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_ Gretel (Hansel and Gretel), Norina (Don Pasquale),  Githa (dwarf) could be seen. 

Since 2010 voice coach with St.Georgs Chorknaben Ulm, since 2015 with the Ulmer Spatzenchor, since 2017 with the New Chamber Choir Heidenheim.

The soprano, born in Nuremberg, received extensive musical training with instrumental lessons in the subjects piano, organ and oboe, among others, while still at school in Schwabach.

After graduating from high school, she studied music education with a major in singing and opera school at the Freiburg State University of Music in Breisgau in the class of Eva-Maria Meyerolbersleben. In addition, she took part in singing master classes with Prof. Sylvia Geszty as part of the International Master Classes in Luxembourg.

​

After graduating, she taught and performed as a freelancer in the Nuremberg area for a few years before taking up the position of singing teacher at the Aalen Music School in November 2002.

 

Kerstin Barwitz has been teaching at the New Chamber Choir Heidenheim since August 2017.

Alwina Meissner

Alwina Meissner was born in Kazakhstan born.

 

She completed her piano studies as well as her studies in music theory and musicology at the State Music Academy in Alma-Ata and graduated with a diploma.
She then taught at the conservatories in Alma-Ata and Gujev.

​

Alwina Meissner was engaged as a pianist at the opera house and the philharmonic orchestra of Alma-Ata.

Since 1994 she has been a pianist and accompanist at the Ulm Theater and has taken part in numerous Philharmonic concerts and chamber concerts.

​

Alwina Meissner has been supporting the Neue Kammerchor Heidenheim as a pianist and répétiteur for a few years.

The soprano, born in Nuremberg, received extensive musical training with instrumental lessons in the subjects piano, organ and oboe, among others, while still at school in Schwabach.
